Food production line shipped to India through a single logistics partner.

The components of the food production line came from all over the world.

All questions regarding planning, delivery schedules, and status were handled by Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics.

The components of the food production line were sourced from all over the world. Parts from suppliers in Europe were consolidated into approximately 100 containers and flatracks at one of Jan van Dam’s warehouses. Components from the United States were shipped directly to India. Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics maintained full oversight and turned all these individual shipments into one structured goods flow.

Inleiding

Coordinating components from all over the world.

Together with a fixed packaging partner, the European goods were re-evaluated on site at Jan van Dam. Standard components were repacked, while out-of-gauge cargo was placed in wooden crates. The crates were built to be suitable for sea freight and onward transport by truck in India, minimizing the risk of damage throughout the entire journey.

Jan van Dam also arranged the sea freight to Mundra Port in India. The various machine components were consolidated into carefully planned sailings. At Mundra Port, the machine components were delivered by truck to the end customer on a Delivered at Place (DAP) basis. Throughout the project, the customer had a single point of contact in the Netherlands. All questions regarding planning, delivery windows, and status were handled by Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics.

End-to-end management.

The strength of this project lay in the management of the entire chain. It wasn’t just about transporting goods from point A to B, but about coordinating all the links in the process. Jan van Dam monitored quantities, sequence, and scheduling of the shipments, providing suppliers with clear instructions.

The packaging partner worked on-site according to agreed quality standards. Sea freight and subsequent truck transport were carefully coordinated. This allowed the customer to focus fully on the construction and installation of the production line.
