The company Pas Panelen approached us with the request to relocate an existing unique panel press from the eastern part of Germany to the Netherlands.
We were delighted to have been awarded the contract to carry out this project.
This project began with meticulous preparation: discussing the request with our technical employees, visiting the location of the existing panel press, contacting the supplier, and conducting an extensive assessment of the situation. What is needed for dismantling? How will we approach it, and with what equipment and personnel?
The gathered information was extensively reviewed with our technical employees. With their practical knowledge and experience, an estimation of the possibilities and impossibilities was made. Together with them and with the external expertise of Van der Giessen BV, a comprehensive plan of action was formulated. Following this thorough assessment, we drafted a proposal and discussed the plan of action with the client.
In September 2023, in collaboration with suppliers, we commenced the dismantling of the Pas Panelen press and piping at the location in eastern Germany. The disconnection and dismantling of the line took two weeks. Using our own truck-mounted crane and forklift, we spent two weeks in Germany dismantling the Pas Panelen press and all its accessories, bringing them outside, and loading them onto various trucks. We relocated the panel press along with the steam boiler, chimney, and chiller. Van der Giessen, on our behalf, dismantled and reassembled the piping of the cooling and steam systems.
Naturally, this was done in phases and in such a way that everything was well marked for assembly at the new location.
We managed the transportation to the Pas Panelen company location in Bergambacht. Upon arrival, all machine components were unloaded and brought inside. This was followed by alignment and leveling, allowing for the complete installation to be assembled, mounted, and connected within a period of three weeks.
We were able to alleviate Pas Panelen's concerns by organizing and executing the entire logistics. This included not only the transportation of the panel press and all its accessories, such as the piping, but also partly the communication with external parties. We are accustomed to working on a project basis and looking beyond just our core business.
Such a project requires significant effort in preparation, but once again, it has been demonstrated that this pays off in execution. The entire project was completed in approximately six weeks thanks to our technical employees.
