In their contact with the dealer, JTEKT Machinery Europe, RBOURGEOIS indicated that the delivery and installation of the milling machine would be handled by us.
The company RBOURGEOIS is a world leader in the production and supply of magnetic steel circuits, rotor and stator lamination assemblies for the electric motor, generator and transformer industries. They are based in Besançon, France, and have previously worked with us.
They recently invested in the purchase of a horizontal milling machine, a Toyoda FH12500SX-i. In their contact with the dealer, JTEKT Machinery Europe, RBOURGEOIS indicated that the delivery and installation of the milling machine would be handled by us.
We were contacted and agreed to visit the Besançon site with the dealer. With the dimensions of the machine, we looked at the possibilities and possible limitations on site. Thus, it became clear that the capacity of the available overhead crane was not sufficient to lift the machine parts and that the door was not high enough. The location of the milling machine is directly behind the door, and because of the size of the machine and all the operations, space on site was limited.
As a result of the visit, we developed a project approach. The machine was shipped from Japan in 11 crates. At the Besançon site, there was insufficient space to unpack all the crates. Therefore, the large crates went through Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics' warehouse in Rotterdam.
We unpacked the crates there and the waste was separated and disposed of. The great advantage of unpacking in advance is that the customer has no waste, and we can put the machine in place faster on site. After unpacking, the machine parts went into temporary storage before they could be brought to the customer. It was important that the machine parts were delivered in the correct order due to the limited space and so that no doors were blocked. The parts were transported in our special closed trailers and delivered just-in-time.
Upon arrival in France, we unloaded the machine parts with our 300-ton-meter truck-mounted crane. Our technical staff also took care of the internal transport and mechanical assembly. In cooperation with the supplier, the complete machine was assembled in about 10 days.
In short, a nice practical example of unburdening both the customer and the dealer, as they had one point of contact for this entire project.
It is our pleasure to tell you about our approach to Wilting's corporate relocation.
