A great example of unburdening with an industrial business relocation

Our comprehensive approach unburdens FMI during an industrial business relocation!

FMI is located in Bergen op Zoom. This company is essentially a customer of our customers. By this, we mean that we have regularly been commissioned to unload and place machines at FMI. As a result, they have a diverse range of machinery.

In 2024, FMI approached us because they were relocating their business—and therefore their machinery—to another site, also in Bergen op Zoom.

For us, such a request begins with a site visit. We assess the customer's needs, what needs to be done, and the applicable requirements and guidelines.

Back in Oudewater, all the gathered information is shared with the sales department. Machine details and photos are collected, and together, we develop an action plan along with a budget estimate. This information is then sent to the client, followed by more detailed discussions.

We visit the site again, this time with employees from the work preparation department and a site supervisor. We explain our approach to the client and the steps we can take, all aimed at unburdening them. A business relocation is a major undertaking—entrusting the transport of valuable equipment is not easy.

We understand this and strive to explain our methodology as clearly as possible. We create a schedule and coordinate with the technicians responsible for disconnecting and reinstalling the machines at the new location. Essentially, you can see us as a moving coordinator.

FMI entrusted us with carrying out this business relocation based on the moving plan we had developed. We are very pleased with this trust!

And then the work begins.

Before leaving Oudewater, all employees are briefed by the planners and the site supervisor. They are fully informed about the relocation plan. Machines are moved outside at the old site and transported to the new location. There, we unload the machines and position them correctly in the new facility. The delivery sequence is continuously coordinated with the client.

All our field employees are highly skilled. They have extensive experience in machine transport, are familiar with our tools, and know how to remain calm throughout the process.

Thanks to clear instructions on what does and does not need to be done, we are often able to optimize transport movements, leading to time savings. Over the past few weeks, the entire machinery fleet has been relocated.
