It is always important to maintain good communication with each other, both among ourselves and with the client.
The support we provide through Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics has deepened our partnership with BluePrint Automation over the past five years. Once the machines are ready for delivery to the customer, we take care of the entire logistics process.
We were contacted at an early stage for a project in Northern France, where strict safety requirements were mandated. We prefer to be involved in projects as early as possible, as this allows us to make a difference for our clients by preparing everything in detail.
A large packaging system needed to be delivered to a factory and connected to an existing production line. This requires excellent communication and coordination, as halting production is costly and must be kept as short as possible. The environment also needs to remain clean, so precise work is essential.
For this project, Jan van Dam Machine Transport prepared a complete delivery and installation plan, covering all safety aspects. We involved the plant manager and the client’s safety coordinators in our planning and convinced them that our approach was the best way to swiftly and safely install the machine. Our drivers and technicians, due to their expertise, were also engaged during this phase. Once the client approved the project plan, including the safety and lifting plans, we were ready to execute the transport.
The project began with loading the machines in Woerden. A transport schedule was prepared in advance, so the drivers knew which machine parts were to be loaded into each truck. The machines were transported to France using four trucks.
Upon arrival, the trucks were unloaded in sequence, ensuring that the machines needed first were unloaded first. All machine parts were placed on the factory floor within two days using internal transport equipment. The route through the factory had been mapped out beforehand, ensuring that we had all the tools necessary to complete the internal transport smoothly.
One challenge in this project was that the new packaging machine had to integrate seamlessly with the existing production line. Thanks to the experience and clear briefing of the drivers and technicians, they knew exactly what was expected of them. Of course, continuous communication on-site with each other, the customer, and the BluePrint Automation team was key.
We handled the complete logistics, from A to Z – total peace of mind.
FMI is located in Bergen op Zoom. This company is essentially a customer of our customers. By this, we mean that we have regularly been commissioned to unload and place machines at FMI. As a result, they have a diverse range of machinery.
We are proud of the recent expansion of our fleet. On February 21, the second Volvo Aero was delivered to Oudewater. This time, Gordon is the lucky one to get behind the wheel of this beautiful vehicle.
And before you know it, it’s December again…
Another year has flown by, and we’ve accomplished so much together.
A perfect moment to look back on the past year with the management team.
