De Ridder: Machine transport and installation in one integrated international logistics operation

For De Ridder, Jan van Dam Machine Transport handled the transport and installation of a machine that arrived in the Netherlands from Japan. The project was managed by Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics.

Once again, this is a great example of “We cover it all.” One single point of contact for the customer and one party in full control of the entire operation.

The shipment consisted of a vertical machining center with accompanying components, which arrived at the seaport terminal in Rotterdam by flatrack and container. From there, the operation was further coordinated in close cooperation with Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics.

From terminal to warehouse

After arrival at the terminal, the flatrack and container were collected by Jan van Dam Machine Transport and transported to the warehouse of Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics.

At the warehouse, the machine components were unpacked and prepared for onward transport. More and more customers are choosing this approach. For Jan van Dam Machine Transport, this means machines can be delivered to the end customer clean, inspected, and fully prepared.

This enables faster and more efficient work on site. There is no packaging material left to remove, and the installation can be carried out safely and in a controlled manner, without disrupting the end customer’s operations.

Transport and installation at the end customer’s site

After preparation in the warehouse, Jan van Dam Machine Transport took care of the transport to the end customer. Using their own vehicles and trusted team members, the machine components were safely delivered to the customer’s site in the eastern part of the country.

On site, the team handled the unloading, positioning, and anchoring of the machine. This work was carried out by specialists with over 35 years of experience in transporting and installing machinery within the metal and food industries. That experience ensures a smooth execution and a placement done right the first time.
