Delivery is the first impression

For Dormac CNC Solutions, a new machine is much more than a delivery. It represents a major investment for the customer. From the moment the machine is installed, it needs to start producing and generating a return. A false start is therefore the last thing you want. That is why, according to Joost Verschure, Managing Director of Dormac Group, the delivery should feel like a celebration. Everything has to be right. The people at Jan van Dam play an important role in this. They ensure a smooth start and, in a way, give the first signal that the new machine is ready to perform.

That is why Dormac has been working with Jan van Dam Machine Transport for more than thirty years. Not because every assignment is complicated, but because every assignment requires the same level of care and attention. The recent installation of a machine at Van Otterloo was another great example. "The assignment for Jan van Dam was actually very straightforward: put the machine neatly in its place. But to get that done without any hassle, you need the right preparation, the right equipment, experience and the right people," says Joost Verschure.

According to Joost, Jan van Dam stands out not because of the lowest price, but because of the way they work. "That is exactly how we work ourselves. Quality comes first. Well-trained people, specialist equipment, short lines of communication and colleagues who take responsibility. Those are things that matter to us as well."

This shared vision has formed the foundation of the partnership for more than thirty years. Even when a project does not go according to plan, they work together to find a solution that is in the best interest of the end customer.

At the Van Otterloo installation, the added value of Jan van Dam's specialist equipment was once again clear. The machine, a Puma 700LM CNC lathe from DN Solutions, weighed 22 tonnes and was also particularly high. To remain within the maximum transport height, Jan van Dam selected a special semi-low-loader from its fleet. Thanks to the right combination of specialist equipment and experienced employees, the machine could be transported and installed safely and efficiently, without delays.
