Technology and logistics under one roof

“We selected Jan van Dam from three candidates because they were the only one able to deliver a complete solution,” says Jop Pierik,

A rock-solid preparation
Half of the project was in the preparation. Jan van Dam created a roadmap in which every detail was planned. From measuring all production lines, disconnecting and dismantling them, labeling, internal transport, loading, moving to the new site, unloading, positioning, aligning, reassembling, and reconnecting.
The roadmap specified who did what and when, planned down to the minute. Every part was labeled and positioned with millimeter precision. Every step was carefully thought out. No surprises, no loose ends.

One team, one responsibility
What made this relocation unique was the team. At Jan van Dam, drivers have technical insight and mechanics have logistical insight. They speak each other’s language and work seamlessly together. From electrical disconnection and internal transport at the old site to loading, moving, and precisely positioning machines at the new site: everyone knew exactly what had to be done.

For Vetipak, this meant peace of mind. No discussions between suppliers. No coordination between subcontractors. Just one team taking responsibility for the entire process, from A to Z.

“Especially the calm and controlled coordination gave us peace of mind,” says Jop Pierik. “It saved me many hours I was originally scheduled for. The project practically ran in the background.”

New factory operational, right on time
Within the agreed timeframe, the new factory was fully up and running. Production lines were operating. Machines were placed exactly at the right height and position. The whole process went as planned. “During execution, we required major unforeseen changes in planning and execution. Jan van Dam managed those perfectly, thanks to their experience and proactive thinking,” says Jop Pierik. “The collaboration with such a great team made the project run smoothly and successfully.”
